Type "GS/LPS" trucks are duel fuel units as they may be operated on gasoline or LPG without any modification to the fuel system. Lift trucks fueled by diesel which meet minimum standards for fire hazards are labeled type "D". These lift trucks are not to be utilized in unsafe places. Type "DS" forklifts are diesel fueled and meet all the requirements of a Type "D" truck and include other machinery installed to the exhaust system, electrical system and fuel system in order to allow them to be utilized in certain hazardous places. Type "DS" lift trucks are used in related applications to Type "GS", Type "LPS" and Type "EE" electric trucks. Type "DY" lift trucks are diesel fueled and meet all the requirements of Type "DS" trucks and also do not have whichever electrical machines installed. These utilize air starters and comprise provisions for regulating the temperature of truck components. These type lift trucks are utilized in similar application to the Type "EE" electric trucks.
